How To Let It Suck Without AI | Joseph Sedarski | TEDxDover Sherborn High School Youth

Joseph Sedarski argues that in an age of generative AI, one of the most important human skills is still the willingness to make imperfect first drafts and grow through the messy process of creation. Drawing from his experience as a composer, he shows that real creativity comes not just from output, but from time, honest feedback, community, and the hard-earned growth that only comes from making something flawed yourself. J. A. J. Sedarski is a composer praised by the Boston Musical Intelligencer for "showing a deeper understanding of harmony." His work has been performed internationally and draws on his Mexican heritage, real-life events, and the natural world, blending bold, dramatic gestures with moments of striking intimacy. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition from Boston University and writes criticism for the Boston Classical Review. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
